Level Designer

We are looking for an outstanding Level Designer to create levels for our UGC virtual world, using our no-code The Sandbox Game Maker tool, which is a main component of The Sandbox decentralized gaming virtual world gaming platform, allowing to create voxel game experiences

The position can be remote, freelance or in-house, alongside 3D Artists and Creators who produce 3D voxel assets to put these into context inside a voxel-based environment and implement the Behaviors and Components of the game maker to create compelling games with quests, rewards and more.

Mission

To success in this role requires a team player with a love for adventure, strategy or rpgs games, someone who enjoys the creative challenge of exploring the limits of game mechanics and existing features of the game maker to their fullest and can evolve with the constraints of the tooling environment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge about general Game Design and Level Design concepts
  • Experience designing avatar-centric 3D levels
  • Experience working with inhouse editors (Unity or similar)
  • Experience working with MMO RPGs or Adventure games
  • Communication skills with clients or with the public/end user of your company’s product
  • Basic programing or logic skills
  • Clear communication and organized

Nice to have

  • Played other UGC games where you create your own levels (including mechanics)
  • An eye for aesthetics, knowing what makes an environment appealing and a story compelling
  • Having coordinated a team in the past
  • Having been involved in UX processes for an editing tool
  • Knowledge about cryptogames
